FAQ

What is involved?

The expedition will depart from Alice Springs, deep in the heart of central Australia and cross through all ten Australian Deserts. Traversing 4 states and over 6500km of desert track and sand dunes, riding deep into the most isolated and unexplored parts of Australia.

FAQ

How long will the expedition take?

With an expedition of this size, it would be foolish to not expect a hold up along the way somewhere, but the whole trip should take no longer than 25-30 days to complete.

FAQ

Will I need my own bike?

It is recommended that you ride your own bike that you are familiar with and can take spares and are able to do minor repair and maintenance. However, having said that there will be a mechanic as part of the expedition so if we do run into any major issues, we should have the tools and technology to get you back in the saddle.

What modifications will I need to make to my bike?

The only modification needed will be a range of up to 350 km. if you can’t ride this range, you will be provided fuel bladders that you will need to carry so you can refuel yourself when required.

FAQ

I have a big touring type bike; will this be suitable?

It all depends on your riding ability. Some of the desert we will be crossing will have large sand dunes and twisting sandy tracks. Picking up a big bike in these conditions can get exhausting for the best riders. So, a smaller CC bike is recommended.
